Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the poetic possibilities of the short story genre and the artistic interpretation of the motif of conscience in Uzbek short story writing. To achieve this objective, the study applies several research methods, including close and contextual reading of literary texts, comparative literary analysis, content analysis, and stylistic analysis. The research methodology is based on theoretical approaches developed in Uzbek and world literary studies, particularly in the fields of poetics, literary psychologism, and narrative analysis. In addition, the literary analysis examines the system of characters, plot construction, internal monologue, dialogue, artistic details, and stylistic devices as interconnected elements of narrative structure. In conclusion, the artistic interpretation of the motif of conscience in Uzbek short story writing serves as an important poetic tool for revealing the spiritual world and moral perspectives of individuals. In this regard, the short story genre occupies a special place in Uzbek literature not only because of its artistic and aesthetic possibilities but also due to its ability to provide a profound analysis of the human inner world.References
