Abstract
This article provides a comparative analysis of the semantic- pragmatic and stylistic properties of color-denoting lexical units in English and Uzbek advertising texts. The study uses a corpus-based approach to identify the denotative meaning, connotative layers (brand image, emotional evaluation, cultural symbolic meanings) and functional load of color terms in persuasive strategies. The analysis shows the mechanisms of value creation of color words through stylistic means such as collocational models (for example, “pure white”, “gold price”, “deep black”), metaphor, metonymy and synesthesia, as well as their combination with methods such as intensification, gradation, antithesis in headlines, slogans and taglines.References
