Abstract

The pyrolysis distillate obtained from Ustyurt-derived hydrocarbon feedstock was subjected to fractional distillation at 170 °C using Raschig ring packing to obtain a hydrocarbon fraction enriched in C9 components. The separated fraction was characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and gas chromatography. The FTIR spectrum showed characteristic absorption bands associated mainly with aliphatic and unsaturated hydrocarbon structures. Gas chromatographic analysis revealed the presence of several C9 hydrocarbons, including 1H-indene, isopropenylbenzene, and allylbenzene. Among the identified C9 hydrocarbons, 1H-indene was the predominant component, with a combined relative content of 10.15%. The total relative content of the identified C9 hydrocarbons reached 14.19%. The results demonstrate that fractional distillation using Raschig ring packing at 170 °C can provide a fraction containing a significant proportion of C9 hydrocarbons. The combined application of FTIR spectroscopy and gas chromatography provides complementary information for characterizing the structural features and hydrocarbon composition of the separated fraction.
