THE AUTHORIAL PRESENTATION OF ANOTHER'S SPEECH IN POETRY AS A LINGUISTIC FACTOR REALIZING THE PRINCIPLE OF ECONOMY

Abstract

In poetry, the inclusion in the text of another person's speech acts, that is, those of another poet or writer, whether in the form of a word, an element, a fragment, or as a sentence, line, or stanza, is one of the factors that gives rise to the manifestation of the principle of linguistic economy. By harmoniously incorporating the poetic energy contained in another's speech act into the integral text of his own work, the poet creates depth, concreteness, vividness, and the form of natural communication in artistic thought. In this process, two important types of linguistic economy are revealed: (1) the structural level and (2) the semantic level. The inclusion of elements from another's speech in one's own speech act arises from the requirements of poetic structure and semantic necessity; ready-made linguistic materials, by penetrating the very fabric of the poetic text, shape valuable content and shades of thought. The manifestation of the principle of economy at the structural- semantic levels gives the text poetic weight in compact and concise forms.
