Abstract

This study investigates the correlation between cultural identity and second language (L2) acquisition outcomes among university students. Utilizing a mixedmethods approach, the research examines how varying degrees of heritage culture retention and target culture integration affect linguistic proficiency. Results indicate that learners with integrated cultural identities demonstrate significantly higher communicative competence and intrinsic motivation.
