Abstract
This article explores the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies—specifically chatbots and the Metaverse platform—in Korean language education. It highlights how chatbots can enhance students’ spoken language skills by providing a non- judgmental environment for practice and how the Metaverse enables immersive virtual learning experiences, such as cultural exploration and real-time interaction with global users through avatars. The article also discusses the current limitations of AI, including its inability to fully comprehend non-native pronunciation and the potential risks of over-reliance on AI, such as distancing learners from real-life communication or exposure to inaccurate information. The author concludes that AI tools should be used as complementary aids, not replacements for authentic human interaction in language learning.References
