Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has created new opportunities for enhancing teacher preparation and professional development. This study explores the impact of AI-based learning environments on the development of pedagogical competence among pre-service English language teachers. The research examines how AI- powered tools contribute to lesson planning, instructional design, classroom management, assessment practices, and reflective teaching during teacher training. A qualitative and quantitative analysis was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of AI technologies in supporting pedagogical growth and improving teaching performance. The findings indicate that AI-based learning environments facilitate personalized learning, promote critical reflection, increase teaching efficiency, and strengthen digital pedagogical skills. Furthermore, the study highlights the potential of AI technologies to support future English language teachers in adapting to contemporary educational demands and developing innovative teaching strategies. The results suggest that the effective integration of AI into teacher education programs can significantly contribute to the formation of competent, digitally literate, and professionally prepared English language teachers.
