Abstract
Implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) has introduced transformative opportunities, yet it also presents significant challenges and limitations. This paper explores the key obstacles related to AI integration in ELT, including data privacy and security, over-reliance on AI, lack of emotional support, academic dishonesty, accessibility barriers, and cultural and linguistic limitations. This study explores how these challenges impact the effectiveness of AI in English language education. The findings emphasize the need for a balanced approach, effective ethical frameworks, and equitable access to secure AI’s role as a supportive assistant rather than a replacement.References
