Abstract
Sport language has developed as a dynamic and expressive system that reflects social, cultural, and linguistic changes in society. Phraseological units play an important role in the formation and enrichment of sport terminology. They contribute to the expressiveness, emotional coloring, and figurative nature of sports discourse. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of phraseological units in sport terminology and their influence on communication within the sports environment. The study explores the semantic, stylistic, and functional features of phraseological expressions commonly used in sports language. It also examines how these expressions become standardized terms over time and how they contribute to the professional vocabulary of athletes, commentators, and sports journalists. The results show that phraseological units not only enhance linguistic creativity but also help convey complex sport-related situations in a concise and vivid manner.References
