Abstract
This study evaluates the anti-inflammatory activity of Astragalus krauseanus extract under experimental conditions. White rats were treated orally with the extract at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg for 7 days. Acute inflammation was induced using acetic acid–induced peritonitis and formalin-induced edema models. Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed based on exudate volume and paw edema. The results showed that the extract reduced the exudative phase of inflammation by 31–43% at all tested doses. In the formalin-induced edema model, anti-inflammatory effects ranged from 43.0% to 62.2%. At some doses, the efficacy of the extract was comparable to or higher than that of ketoprofen. These findings indicate that Astragalus krauseanus extract exhibits significant anti-inflammatory activity and may be considered a promising biologically active substance for further pharmacological studies.
