Abstract

This article explores the linguistic and psychological properties of colors rather than their physical characteristics. By examining the research of scholars who have conducted semiotic and pragmatic analyses of color, the study elucidates the connotative meanings of color terms and their functional applications within speech acts. Color is presented not merely as a physical phenomenon, but as an emotional, linguistic, and symbolic tool. Each color possesses its own unique positive and negative symbolic connotations. This article highlights these specific attributes of colors and identifies their divergent aspects across various cultures.
