Abstract

This article investigates structural-grammatical transformations as a fundamental mechanism for achieving functional equivalence in the translation of official documents from English into Uzbek. Drawing upon classical and contemporary frameworks in translation studies, the research examines how typological disparities between English as an analytic language and Uzbek as an agglutinative language necessitate systematic modifications at syntactic, morphological, and lexico-grammatical levels. Special attention is given to the translation of institutional discourse, including legal, diplomatic, and administrative texts, where precision, unambiguity, and performative force are critically important.
