Abstract
This study offers a comparative typological analysis of heroic paradigms and socio-cultural values embedded in Uzbek and English epic traditions, with particular reference to Alpomish and Beowulf. Epic narratives function not only as artistic representations of extraordinary individuals but also as cultural frameworks that encode collective memory, ethical norms, and social identity. By examining the structural patterns, character construction, and thematic concerns of these two canonical works, the paper explores how heroism is conceptualized and culturally mediated in distinct linguistic and historical contexts. Special attention is given to such categories as bravery, loyalty, moral responsibility, and the hero-society relationship. Drawing on the theoretical model of the “hero‘s journey,” the analysis identifies both universal narrative patterns and culturally specific variations. The findings demonstrate that while heroic discourse reveals shared anthropological foundations, it simultaneously reflects unique national worldviews and value systems.References
