Abstract
Ushbu maqolada Jeyn Ostinning «Sense and Sensibility» (1811) romanidagi Elinor Deshvud va Marianna Deshvud ayol qahramonlari misolida XIX asr boshidagi ingliz jamiyatida ayollarning ijtimoiy-iqtisodiy mustaqillikka intilishi masalasi tahlil etiladi. Tadqiqotda feministik adabiy tanqid, tarixiy-madaniy kontekstualizatsiya va gender tadqiqotlari metodologiyalaridan foydalanilgan. Maqolada Ostin qanday qilib «aql» (sense) va «his-tuyg’u» (sensibility) dikotomiyasi orqali o’z davrining patriarxal tuzumiga tanqidiy munosabat bildirganini ko’rsatib berish maqsad qilingan. Tadqiqot natijalari shuni ko’rsatadiki, roman shunchaki romantik voqea bayon etib qolmasdan, ayollarning mulkiy huquqlari, nikoh instituti va shaxsiy erkinlik masalalarini ko’rib chiqiladi.References
