Abstract

This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the opportunities and limitations of distance education in the higher education system. In the course of the research, international and local scientific sources were analyzed, and pedagogical, technological and organizational aspects of distance education were studied. Within the framework of the article, aspects such as the flexibility of the educational process, the development of the student's independent study skills, the effective use of educational resources, and the expansion of the scope of higher education were systematically described. However, limitations such as technological limitations, lack of live communication, issues of academic integrity, and decreased motivation were also analyzed separately. The article is based on analytical and comparative methods and includes conclusions and practical recommendations enriched with international experiences.
